The Kiss That Changed My Life

I waited.
I wanted.
Man how I had been longing for that kiss.
It just took me forever to ask for it, to demand it.
But finally, I did, and it was bliss
It was so beautiful, I could hardly stand it
Since that kiss, never have I ever felt so free.
Never have I ever felt so alive.
Never have I ever felt so me.
For far too long, I had been shy.
But the moment came when I couldn't take it anymore.
I had to have it, I had to feel it to my core.
The years of inhibition that held me back,
Fell off of my shoulders and to the mat.
I stood firm, strengthened by the weight that once weakened my spirit
Uplifted by the fact that I no longer feared it.
